Personal Income Tax Management

Useful Information:

  • Non-Russian citizens residing in Russia for more than 183 days in a 12-month period are considered tax residents of Russia.
  • Tax residents of Russia are obligated to declare all their income sources throughout the world.
  • Russia does not always require foreigners to pay taxes. However, to identify possible exemptions for the payment of taxes it is necessary to analyze agreements between Russia and the country of the foreigner’s citizenship to determine ways to avoid double taxation.
  • Russian law requires that a declaration of one’s personal income must be filed annually by the 30th of April

Data Privacy Law Application (Russia)

New Russian legislation requires both Russian and foreign companies (including their representative/branch offices) to switch to databases and servers located in Russia for processing the personal data of Russian citizens.

Companies implementing these new requirements will face a number of issues such as: criteria for determining the term “personal data”; proper order of database transfer from foreign servers to Russian servers; transmission of personal data processing to a company – partner; validity of current data processing abroad.

These and other questions must be resolved quickly as companies that violate these new requirements will face administrative and criminal liabilities including possible inclusion into the register of violators. Moreover, in the event of violation of the rules associated with the processing of employees’ personal data, companies might receive disciplinary action.

Прошел Круглый стол «Изменения в Порядке проведения аттестации рабочих мест»

12 Сентября 2013 г. состоялся круглый стол, посвященный изменениям проведения аттестации рабочих мест. На мероприятии присутствовали представители службы охраны труда, кадровые специалисты, юристы крупнейших российских и иностранных предприятий.
В рамках отведенного времени, участники смогли обсудить особенности аттестации рабочих мест с вредными условиями труда и метод присвоения класса вредности, а также требования к организации и проведению обязательных медицинских осмотров работников. Было обращено внимание вопросу выбора аттестующей организации, даны рекомендации по снижению затрат при проведении аттестации рабочих мест.
